To Study and Ponder

Entering Into Gods Presence Knowing God Through His Names

  • The Bible tells us that JESUS is the only way to God the Father.

    • -  I am the Way the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but by Me (John 14:6).

    • -  We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Rom 5:1-2)

    • -  There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which

we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12).

    • -  And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because

of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. (Heb 10:19-20)

  • The Bible makes clear that God’s way is right and good
    - He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful

God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!” (Deuteronomy 32:4).
    - The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness. (Psalm 145:17)
    - Moses says “let me know your ways so I may understand you more fully and continue to

    enjoy your favor.” (Exodus 33:13)

  • God promises to show us His ways when we walk with him.
    - In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (Prov 3:6)
    - “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go...” (Ps 32:8)
    - Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you

should go,” whether to the right or to the left. Isaiah 30:21

  • There are many places in the Bible where God shows us the way – the way to think and live that is pleasing to Him and leads to blessing for our lives and our communities. His guidance for us is “wisdom” and there are many Bible verses that promise and teach us His wisdom.

  • Jesus demonstrated wisdom in the way He lived and spoke.
    - Even as a boy the Bible says Jesus “grew in wisdom” (Luke 2:52).
    - As an adult, several times the Bible says people were “astounded by his wisdom.”

    (Matt.13:54; Mark 6:2)

  • The Bible describes what it is like to live with wisdom.

“The wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness” (Ja.3:17-18)

  • Proverbs describes what it is like to follow God’s ways:
    - “[Wisdom] will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. She is a tree of

life to those who take hold of her.” (Prov 3:17, 18)
    - “[Wisdom’s] corrective discipline is the way to life.” (Prov 6:23b)
    - “It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones.“ (Prov 3: 8)

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock? God is my strong fortress, and he makes my way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:31-33 (NLT)

The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. Psalm 25:8-10 (NLT)
